The Craigleith Heritage Depot, a branch of The Blue Mountains Public Library, is pleased to announce that the Apple Harvest film has been awarded a Silver Telly Award in the Museums and Galleries category.

This award-winning film was created by the accomplished team at Mountain Goat Film Company and was supported by the Town of The Blue Mountains and the Agricultural Advisory Committee. This film is part of the REEL History Series of documentaries that showcase the heritage and history of The Blue Mountains.

The Telly Awards were founded in 1979 to honour excellence in local, regional and cable television commercials with non-broadcast video and television programming added soon after. With the recent evolution and rise of digital video (web series, VR, 360 and beyond), the Telly Awards today also reflect and celebrate this exciting new era of the moving image on and offline.

The Telly Awards are based in the U.S. and annually showcase the best work created within television and across video, for all screens. Receiving over 12,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents, Telly Award winners represent work from some of the most respected advertising agencies, television stations, production companies and publishers from around the world. The Telly Awards recognize work that has been created on the behalf of a client, for a specific brand and/or company or self-directed as a creative endeavour.

The Apple Harvest film was launched in October of 2021 for The Blue Mountains Apple Harvest Festival. This film follows a year in the life of an apple and the many hands and resources it takes to bring the apple to your table. This film can be enjoyed online at www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzDJktne5EQ. Other award-winning films are included in our website and at www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgml3XVkmG1TZqoxyMbfOr_hnwSYpSYzc.

On behalf of The Blue Mountains Public Library and the Craigleith Heritage Depot we thank Mountain Goat Film Company, our supporters and all the participants, who together helped to create this award-winning film.
