There is still time for an Ontario student, 14 to 19 years old, to win $1,000, $700 or $300 and fame in the Stephen Leacock Student Humorous Short Story Competition of 2022.

The submission date has been extended to May 15 from April 15.

Besides a framed certificate and monetary award, winners will have a chance to read their stories at a special authors’ night at the gala 75th-anniversary weekend of the Leacock Medal for Humour in September.

They will have a chance to mingle and hear excerpts from professional authors’ entries for the Leacock Medal for Humour. They will receive a signed copy of a past medal winner’s novel.

Go to Leacock.ca for the criteria to use to enter this worthwhile competition.

Please call Christine Spear, contest registrar, at 705-345-2665 or email [email protected] with any questions.
