Next week, creatives will be gathered in Collingwood to talk about their steely resolve for a symposium focused on the art of resilience.
Collingwood’s Creative Symposium returns for the sixth year for artists, creators, makers, musicians, art administrators, educators, or cultural enthusiasts.
The event website states the symposium, which takes place Nov. 13, will kick off with a “Maker 5X5” which is five makers presenting for five minutes followed by a five-minute Q and A session each.
The speakers for the 5X5 include John David Anderson, impressionist painter; Chris-Anne Donnelly, brand strategist; Bambalamb Kidd, career musician; Kelly Siskind, novelist; and Kirsty Wilson, ceramic artist and educator.
The keynote speaker for the Symposium is Peter Katz, a Juno Award, Canadian Screen Award, and two-time Canadian Folk Music Award-nominated singer-songwriter.
Katz has also presented four times at TEDx events, and an experienced public speaker.
His latest talk is built on his experiences surviving and thriving in the music business, states the symposium event website.
Tickets for the Nov. 13 event are available online here. The Collingwood Creative Symposium runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Simcoe Street Theatre.
