The Grey Bruce Health Unit announced today it has confirmed a case of COVID-19 associated with Beaver Valley Community School in Thornbury.

No outbreak has been declared, and no bus route was involved with the case.

According to the health unit, the individual case and their close contacts have been contacted.

"We have worked with the individual and the school, along with the school board and have identified all others, both in and out of the school environment, who may have been exposed and have determined their risk level," stated a news release issued by the health unit. "Any cohorts that have been identified as contacts to the case have been excluded from school at this time."

The health unit is reminding residents if they develop symptoms consistent with COVID-19, they should get tested.
