Later this month, you and your family can learn more about winter survival in a special program offered by the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority.

Family Nature Day is slated for Jan. 24, 2020, a PA day for most local schools.

The educational programming will include lessons on staying warm in winter, building a quinzee, learning how to start a fire and other tricks for surviving outdoors in the winter.

The program runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a lunch break at noon, and will take place at the Tiffin Centre for Conservation in Utopia (8195 8th Line).

All children must be accompanied by an adult and all participants aged four and older must register for the event by purchasing a ticket. Tickets are $12 for the morning or afternoon only session or $17.50 for the full day if you purchase in advance. There will be a limited number of tickets available at the door for $16 for a half day and $22 for a full day.
