Last week, CollingwoodToday asked you, our loyal readers, to join us in supporting the Salvation Army Collingwood this festive season - and your response was nothing short of extraordinary

During the holidays, an increased number of people are reliant on our local food bank. This increased need means that the Salvation Army Collingwood needs our support more than ever.

CollingwoodToday brought our whole community together to help provide that support.

We partnered with Loblaws Collingwood to offer gift cards for purchase through an online pop-up store.

CollingwoodToday and generous local businesses pledged to match every purchase made through the online store, meaning that every purchase was matched eight times!

Together, we raised an incredible $3,525 for the Salvation Army Collingwood and delivered 15 grocery gift cards, helping to support those who need it most over the holiday season. Thank you!

Special thanks to Loblaws Collingwood for donating the gift cards for this initiative, and to the following businesses who have joined us in matching each donation: Stuart Ellis Pharmacy, Robinson Paint and Wallpaper, Minds Alive, Corbetts Ski, Huronia Alarms, Janet Piotrowski, Real Estate Broker with Royal Lepage Locations North and Kim Dadswell of Dadswell Denture Clinic.

If you didn't get a chance to participate in this program, we encourage you to send your donation directly to the local food bank. You donate online or call (705-445-9222) to arrange a donation, or click here for more information on how to give back.
