The downtown CWOOD sign looks festive in red and green bulbs.

Starting this Friday evening, downtown businesses and vendors will be open late for the annual Christmas Market.

On Dec. 1, 8, and 15, the downtown portion of Hurontario Street in Collingwood will be busy with holiday-themed entertainment, vendors, food and activities from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the market.

Local stores will be open late and Collingwood Farmers' Market vendors will return for the three evening events.

New this year will be a licensed venue at the downtown parkette (84 Hurontario St.) across from town hall hosted by Low Down.

Enjoy the holiday lights, selfie station, Fleetwood dancers in store windows, strolling entertainers, and a free horse and wagon ride.

Santa Claus will be in his sleigh in front of the federal building welcoming visitors during the market hours.

Parking downtown is free after 6 p.m. and on weekends, and there will be free holiday parking in effect starting Dec. 11.

Take advantage of the Christmas market to shop local this holiday.
