Collingwood crews called to help fight house fire in Wasaga Beach (10 PHOTOS)

The fire spread to a neighbouring house and melted siding on another building nearby

This afternoon, two fire departments responded to a fire at a home on Waterview Road in Wasaga Beach, which spread to a neighbouring house.

The fire started at a house in the Blue Water subdivision. The heat from the fire melted the siding on the condo clubhouse and a neighbouring house has also caught fire.

The first house has burned to the ground and flames continued to flare up in both the first and second homes before firefighters ultimately brought the blazes under control.

Both homes were destroyed

One person was inside the house but was able to evacuate safely.

Collingwood Fire Department was called to assist Wasaga Beach Fire Services at the structure fire, which produced billowing black smoke in the area.

The fires have now been brought under control.

Huronia West OPP was also called to assist at the scene and is working with Wasaga Beach Fire Services and the Ontario Fire Marshall to determine the cause.
