COLLINGWOOD PUBLIC LIBRARY

Collingwood Public Library offers 20 different titles to area book clubs. To date, all have been generously funded by 19 area book clubs and Friends of the Library. Book club kits are a new, exciting addition to the collection. Each contains eight copies of a popular book, discussion questions, sign out sheets, and more.

Currently there are 20 kits, fiction and nonfiction, most published within the past year. The kits are fully sponsored by Collingwood book clubs, who generously donated $200 each to sponsor their chosen book.

“We decided to add book club kits to our collection because the need for popular books by our book clubs wasn’t always being met by interlibrary loan. Our kits are a great way for clubs to have access to the newest titles they want to read,” says Beth Van Tassel, coordinator, cataloguing and acquisitions for Collingwood Public Library.

Interested in becoming a donor? Community members can sponsor a book club kit in two different ways: either by donating $200 which is used to purchase the kit or, donate eight new copies of a chosen book. Any person or book club that sponsors a kit is recognized with a bookplate in the front of all copies of the eight books.

The titles currently available are as follows:

The Alice Network, by Kate Quinn
Becoming, by Michelle Obama
Circe, by Madeline Miller
City of Girls, by Elizabeth Gilbert
