Assault charges laid against former councillor Bob Madigan in September have now been withdrawn by the Crown Attorney.

Court documents indicate the charges were laid after an alleged dispute with a woman in Collingwood on Sept. 5.

Madigan appeared in Collingwood court virtually today, Dec. 19, where he agreed to a court order not to contact or be within 100 metres of the woman for 12 months.

Following his agreement with the terms of the order, the Crown Attorney dropped the criminal charge against him.
