Among the most popular stories of 2023 was a brief account of a private helicopter crash at a waterfront home.
On Oct. 16, emergency crews were called to Mariner's Haven after a helicopter crashed. One of the waterfront homes in the area has a helicopter and landing pad on the edge of the water between the bay and the home. The helicopter crashed onto the lawn beside the landing pad and caused damage to some of the windows in the home.
The pilot, also the homeowner, was injured, but the injuries were not life-threatening, and he was taken to hospital as a precaution.
