NEWS RELEASE
100+ WOMEN WHO CARE SOUTHERN GEORGIAN TRIANGLE
**********************
The 100+ Women Who Care Southern Georgian Triangle (SGT) group chose Hope Haven Therapeutic Riding Centre as the recipient of their donations in the May 27 meeting. These funds which totalled $18,000 will cover the cost of an additional part-time riding instructor enabling Hope Haven to add 500 lessons in 2021/2022 to meet the needs of children and young adults with unique challenges living in the Southern Georgian Triangle.
Located at the top of the Beaver Valley, Hope Haven Therapeutic Riding Centre is a specialized equestrian facility that offers adaptive riding, horsemanship, hippotherapy, therapeutic recreation programs and Special Olympics Equestrian. The equine-based programs benefit individuals with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, seizure and genetic disorders, mental health challenges, ADHD, anxiety, and depression among others.
The mental and physical isolation caused by the pandemic has been especially challenging for children and young adults with disabilities who thrive on the structure and routine of these programs. The demand for adaptive riding and therapeutic programs has grown beyond current capacity, and the need to add more lessons to meet this need became a key priority when Hope Haven re-opened their facility in June.
We strongly encourage all women and local charities join 100+ Women Who Care SGT.
This remarkable community of women meets quarterly to help charitable organizations in Southern Georgian Triangle who are in immediate need of significant funding that will help those living in our community. To become a member and join in contributing to local charities and/or to nominate your own charity, visit www.100womensouthgeorgiantriangle.com for details on how to join.
