CollingwoodToday welcomes letters to the editor at [email protected] or via our website. Please include your daytime phone number and address (for verification of authorship, not publication). The following letter was submitted in response to this article: 'More than a ski destination' tourism group celebrates 45 years

It was great to read your article about the celebration of 45 years of the Georgian Triangle, now South Georgian Bay, Tourism Association.

I would like to add that Shiela Metras, the first manager, played a key role in expanding the operation and exercised huge energy and talent in promoting tourism in the area for much of that period.

Among the dedicated founder/supporters were Ron Emo, former Mayor of Collingwood, and a Collingwood hotel owner, Bev Taylor. Bev is unfortunately no longer with us.

It is gratifying that the organization has lasted so long and is now in good hands under Melissa Twist and her capable young staff.
