I live in Stayner but regularly travel to neighbouring towns like Wasaga, Creemore, Duntroon, Collingwood, etc.
Moving to Stayner we got out of the hustle and busyness of the GTA and started actually enjoying the outdoors and peacefulness.
Hearing about all these homes and condos wanting to come in scares me. With a huge population you get so many issues. People start pushing their agendas and not letting things be that are normal for the area, not to mention crime.
People will start to complain about all the things that are normal here but not in the GTA. I've seen it first-hand happen to Oakville and Milton. I really hope Clearview Township, Collingwood and the surrounding area stay as a quiet town that keeps the nature feel with small shops and farmers' markets.
Learn from the GTA towns that have exploded in population, the downsides that all the development brings.
Focus on keeping your current residents happy. No one is asking for condos or mass developments here. Housing "crisis" is in the GTA. Not here.
