CollingwoodToday welcomes letters to the editor at [email protected] or via our website. Please include your daytime phone number and address (for verification of authorship, not publication). The following letter is in response to a suggestion in Collingwood's draft Official Plan to allow up to 6-storey buildings in some intersections in the downtown core.

Dear town council,

Do you not appreciate the beauty and the uniqueness of our town centre?

Is it not your responsibility to preserve what makes our town special?

What on earth could have made you think creating high-rise buildings in the heart of town would be a good idea?

I can only hope that after a good night's sleep and some thought, you realize the madness of suggesting tall buildings in our heritage, historic centre.
