Ontario confirms 132 new cases of COVID-19 today

The province reported no new deaths today, and for the second day in a row

Public Health Ontario has confirmed 132 new cases of COVID-19 today. 

For the second day in a row, there are no new COVID-related deaths reported. 

Of today's new cases, 41 are individuals between 20 and 39 years old, 42 are individuals between 40 and 59 years old, and 19 are youth aged 19 and under. The remaining cases are individuals over 60. 

Most of the cases reported today (74 per cent) are from just three health units. In today's summary, there are 45 new cases from Peel, 31 from Toronto and 22 from Ottawa. 

To date, Ontario has confirmed 42,686 cases of COVID-19, and has reported 38,635 of those cases as recovered, and 2,812 cases ending in death. 

There are currently 1,249 active, lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province, including 60 patients hospitalized with the coronavirus. There are 12 patients in intensive care with COVID-19 and nine patients on ventilators. 

Since last report, the province completed 26,298 COVID-19 tests, with 22,769 tests still awaiting results.

The average incidence rate for Ontario is 287.2 cases of COVID per 100,000 people in the population. 

Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has now reported a total of 713 coronavirus cases in the region, with 678 of the cases in Simcoe County. Of those, 645 cases are now listed as recovered and 37 people have died.

There are 29 cases of COVID in Simcoe County not reported recovered, including 22 in Barrie, three in Bradford, two in New Tecumseth, one in Innisfil, and one in Essa.
