During the provincial shutdown starting Saturday, you can still borrow items from the Collingwood Public Library.

“With Collingwood entering lockdown, we will have to make some adjustments to comply with provincial protocols,” stated library CEO Ken Haigh in a news release from the library today.

The library announced today it will be altering its services for the shutdown, allowing patrons to place holds online and pickup hold items in person at the library.

The library will not allow browsing of its collections and public access to computers will not be available.

Six patrons at a time will be allowed in the library for item pickup.

Other services previously offered at the library will be suspended until further notice.

“We know this is disappointing to our patrons but we hope it will just be a temporary measure,” stated Haigh.

During yesterday’s announcement of the province-wide shutdown, Premier Doug Ford said the lockdown measures will be in place for a minimum of 28 days, except for some northern regions.
