Ron Emo would like to recognize the diligent service of Susan Scouten, both before and during the pandemic.

Scouten organizes a monthly community dinner at All Saints Anglican Chuch in Collingwood. Since the pandemic hit, she's been working with a small crew to prepare weekly community dinners for takeout and delivery. She and her team prepare just a little over 100 meals during some weeks.

The All Saints Alive newsletter said this about the weekly dinner program in its May 15 edition: "Susan Scouten and her support team of Albert Scouten, Pam Hawkins, Kathi and Robert Wilkinson, Penny and Anthony Bourne, Father Doug, Sharon Goldsworthy and Ron Emo have epitomized this motto [He ain't heavy, he's my brother] with the weekly Friendship Dinners…Susan and her amazing team put together 127 takeout dinners last Wednesday. They gave out 122 for pickup and delivery and 5 were donated to Home Horizons. An additional 12 were sent to the Out of the Cold program"

CollingwoodToday would like your help in recognizing local essential workers from health care workers, physicians, cashiers and delivery drivers. If you'd like to say thanks to someone you know, please send a photo, their name, their job title, and your words of thanks to [email protected]. Please only send photos and information with permission.
