Collingwood Pride celebration pushed to 2021

The inaugural event was originally scheduled to take place July 2020

RAINBOW CLUB OF SOUTH GEORGIAN BAY

After careful thought and deliberation of our duty in the face of the COVID-19 outbreak, and in what we believe to be the best interest of our local communities, The Rainbow Club of South Georgian Bay has come to the difficult decision to postpone the inaugural Collingwood Pride celebrations to July 2021. Our community faces unique challenges in this difficult time, particularly the most marginalized.

“We feel it is doubtful the health environment will be where it needs to be for our originally scheduled dates,” says Pride event producer Lori D’Agostino.

“We are grateful to our incredible sponsors for standing behind us during these unprecedented times and for continuing to support us for Collingwood’s first Pride Festival in the summer of 2021” says Pride executive producer Dr. John Miller.

“We know this decision will come as a disappointment to many, but our community is creative and resilient. The Rainbow Club hopes to produce a cluster of smaller community-focused events later in the summer of 2020 should the health climate improve, so stay tuned!” says Pride managing director Andrew Siegwart.
