Skye

Hi there humans, My name is Skye. I'm quite stunning don't you think with my beautiful markings! I'm just over three years old and a wee girl at about 8 lbs. But before you get mesmerized by my good looks and start completing an application for me, please review my full profile to ensure that you and I would make a good match.

I arrived here at the GTHS not too long ago when my family's situation changed and they were no longer able to care for me so I am still adjusting to shelter life. And as I'm sure you can understand, this has been a BIG change for me and I'm still getting settled and coming to terms with finding a new family to love.

The team here says that I'm a very sweet and lovely cat. When I first arrived at the Animal Centre I was very unsure of my new surroundings and it took me a couple of days to decompress and not be hissy with everyone! I can be easily overstimulated from time to time so, being mindful of what I'm telling you with my body language and taking things nice and slow will be the key to my successful transition.

While I'm not overly food or toy motivated here at the shelter, I have cautiously accepted pets from GTHS humans. I particularly like head and chin rubs - but full-body pets are not yet my thing! The team here thinks I'll get there though with a bit more time. My previous family describes me as an 'affectionate, couch potato, quiet and vocal'.

For all of the above reasons, the humans here refer to me as a "Spirit Cat" which means it may take me a little longer to gain my confidence and will be a bit slower to trust my new family. So, please be patient with me as I learn about loving humans again, and don't get too discouraged if I'm a little shy and nervous initially.

Anyways, due to all of this and my unsure nature, the GTHS humans are looking to find me an all grown-ups home. No young children please, so 14+ in age would be wonderful. Oh, and if I could ask, I'd like to be your one and only cat too, pretty please.

I guess you're probably also wondering about why I'm an "Underdog". Well, the GTHS humans have found that I have a behaviour they refer to as "overstimulation".

I'm not sure what this means but they say that sometimes I can't regulate my excitement and react in naughty ways. Oopsie... So, due to my overstimulated behaviour, I will be looking to find a very cat-experienced human to bring me home! Familiarity with this behaviour or at least a good understanding of kitty body language is going to be a huge help for our success!

I guess you could say I'm just a lady who knows what she likes, doesn't like, and sometimes has slightly...inappropriate outlets when I get a bit too stimulated.

I know I need a bit of a special home and special human, and it might take me a little bit of time to settle into my new home and for my true, lovely purrsonality to come out, but I also know my purrfect place is out there somewhere!

My Underdog adoption fee is just $25 and includes my spay, up to date vaccinations, de-wormer, and a microchip. I know my purrfect person will find me soon.

xoxo Skye
