Mitzy

Hi there humans, I'm a sweet little senior named Mitzy, hoping to find my purrfect retirement home and special someone! I am 12 years old and under all of this beautiful Torti fluff is about 10lbs of kitty.

My story is a bit of a long one...

Sadly, my human passed away so I went to live with other members of the family. In this other home though, there were some other kitties and we didn't get along very well.

So, everyone decided it was best for me to come to GTHS so that I could find a nice calm and quiet home for my golden years and the GTHS humans say they will make sure they find me a home where I get to be the one and only pet!

Anyways, I won't lie, coming to GTHS has been quite a shock and very big change for me. I'm definitely a little slower to settle in and adjust to life here at the Animal Center. I'm an older girl who's a bit...set in her ways....

My previous home said that I'm actually a pretty independent girl, but have my affectionate days and can even be a bit chatty at times hehe I will say though, I'm more of a "by your side" companion and not so much a "pick me up and snuggle" kind of girl.

For the time being, the GTHS humans are referring to me as a "Spirit Cat!" This means I'm a little under-socialized when it comes to new people and new places, and am looking to find a VERY specific home in order to be a happy, stress-free girl.

I'll admit, a kitty like me requires a lot of patience and understanding, as it takes me quite a while to get settled and learn to trust new humans. Though I'm still settling in here and am pretty nervous, I am very curious of the humans and what they're up to every day (though I watch the goings on from the safety of my hidey hole, of course!)

My new family will just really need to be understanding of my "Spirit Cat-ness" and please, please be patient with me. Spirit cats can sometimes take months and months before we feel comfortable in our new surroundings. But if you're willing to give me the time I need to get to know you, I promise there is nothing more rewarding than that first time when I actually come out from hiding and approach you for some attention or come sit beside you on the couch while you're reading or watching tv.

Oh and if I can ask one last favour? Due to my shy nature, I'll likely do best in a home with no tiny humans please! Adults only would be just purrfect. Quiet mornings together while you have your coffee and read the paper and evenings spent curled up on the couch by the fire while you watch tv. *Sigh* it sounds wonderful...

With the Home for the Holidays adoption promotion, for the month of December, my adoption fee is only $50 and includes my spay, up to date vaccinations, de-wormer and a microchip.

Patient purrs,
xoxo Mitzy
