It's election day!

Here's what you need to know to cast your votes for Collingwood, The Blue Mountains, and Grey Highlands council and school board trustee today

Today is the final day to vote in the 2022 municipal and school board elections. 

In Collingwood, the town has reported 31.5 per cent of eligible voters have cast their ballots, as of Oct. 24 at noon. 

The voting methods for Collingwood voters include online and in-person paper ballot options.

Anyone eligible to vote in the Collingwood municipal and school board election can cast their vote online until 8 p.m. on Oct. 24 There will be in-person voting with paper ballots available at the Collingwood Public Library from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

Voter information letters were mailed to all eligible voters and contain the information required to vote online. If voting in-person, you should bring your voter information letter with you. 

Municipal public transit is free on election day (Oct. 24) to assist electors in getting to the poll station at the library. Buses stop at the library approximately once an hour, with the last pickup at about 8:35 p.m. Visit collingwood.ca/public-transit for schedule information. 

Collingwood residents can vote for one candidate for mayor and one for deputy mayor. You may vote for up to seven councillor candidates, and one school board trustee.

As of this morning at 9:45 a.m. more than 21 per cent of residents and landowners in The Blue Mountains had voted.

In The Blue Mountains, voters can cast their ballot online or by telephone. There are no paper or mail-in ballot methods available for this election. Voter information letters were sent to eligible voters with information to use for online or telephone voting. There is a help centre set up at town hall today (Oct. 24) from 9 a.m. until voting closes at 8 p.m. You can get help voting at the help centre, and can be added to the voter list. 

In The Blue Mountains, voters can make their mark for a mayor, deputy mayor, five councillors, and one school board trustee. The deputy mayor is running unopposed and is therefore acclaimed to the position. 

In Grey Highlands, there are internet or in-person voting options available. Paper ballot voting is accessible at the municipal office from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today (Oct. 24). Grey Highlands residents can cast their votes for a mayor, deputy mayor, five councillors, and one school board trustee.
