Advance voting options open on Oct. 8 for Collingwood voters for the Oct. 24 municipal election.

Eligible voters should, by now, have received voter information in the mail with instructions for how to vote online and options for voting in-person at the Collingwood Public Library.

In-person voting options will be offered at the library on Saturdays (Oct. 8, 15 and 22) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Wednesdays (Oct. 12 and 19) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The library will also offer in-person voting on election day (Monday, Oct. 24) from 10 a.m. to the close of polls at 8 p.m.

To vote in person, bring your voter information letter received by mail and a piece of identification, which can include a utility bill, photo ID, or bank document.

Eligible voters can cast their votes online at anytime and from anywhere with an internet connection beginning Saturday, Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. and up until Oct. 24 at 8 p.m. To vote online you'll need a voter pin (included in the voter information mailed to you) and your date of birth.

If you need help voting by the internet, you can go to the library during the in-person voting times listed above.

Municipal transit is free on election day (Oct. 24), and there is a bus stop near the Collingwood Public Library, with the final pick-up at 8:35 p.m.

If you have not received voter information in the mail, visit collingwood.ca/VoterLookup2022 to confirm you are registered to vote, or call 705-445-1030, ext. 3800.

Anyone living in Collingwood and/or owning property in Collingwood who is 18 years of age or older and a Canadian citizen can vote in the municipal election.

If you have questions about the voting process or your eligibility, you can email town staff at [email protected] or call 705-445-1030, ext. 3800.
