The Town of The Blue Mountains is encouraging all residents and visitors to shop local this holiday season with the 3rd annual Give the Gift of Blue campaign.

From December 1, 2022, until January 1, 2023, every purchase made at a local business in The Blue Mountains receives an entry for a chance to win one of four grand prizes valued at $1,000 each.

The initiative is a partnership with the Blue Mountain Village Association, The Blue Mountains Chamber of Commerce, the Thornbury BIA, the Clarksburg Village Association, South Georgian Bay Tourism and Grey County. The campaign emphasizes the importance of shopping within the Town and supporting the local economy.

After making a purchase, customers can visit www.exploreblue.ca/shop-local and enter online for a chance to win. Paper ballots are also available at retailers that can be deposited at one of the ballot boxes located throughout the community at Town Hall, downtown Thornbury, and downtown Clarksburg.

“Our community is home to so many creative and unique businesses full of exciting products and services, including items made locally,” said Mayor Andrea Matrosovs. “Shopping local is an investment in our economy, and Give the Gift of Blue is an opportunity to celebrate our businesses this holiday season.”

Participants must be a legal resident of Canada and at least 19 years of age or older to be eligible for the contest.
