Council Compensation Review Committee Welcomes Public Feedback

On behalf of the Council Compensation Review Committee, the Town would like to provide an update regarding the 2021 Council compensation review process.

As directed by Council, the Committee has reconvened to review the recommendations previously approved by Council in 2019 to ensure that the compensation structure continues to reflect the best interests of both ratepayers and elected officials.

A report with preliminary recommendations will be presented by Committee members at the October 28, 2021, Council Compensation Review Committee meeting. To provide feedback, the Committee has extended an open invitation for members of the public to review the preliminary report and provide feedback. The preliminary report will be available on the Town website for public review on October 20, 2021 on the Agendas, Minutes Reports webpage:  https://www.thebluemountains.ca/agendas-minutes-reports.cfm.

Following the report, the recommendations will be considered by Council through the 2022 budget process. If you are interested in submitting comments but are unable to attend the October 28, 2021 meeting, you can submit a letter of correspondence to the Committee for review. Correspondence must be submitted to the Executive Assistant by October 22, 2021.

In addition, members of the public are invited to submit comments to the Executive Assistant which will be read during the public comment period of the Committee meeting. Comments can be submitted using the contact form below prior to the meeting on October 28, 2021.

 

About the Council Compensation Review Committee

The Council Compensation Review Committee is an advisory committee of Council for the purposes of reviewing relevant municipal models and recommending a compensation package for elected officials that is fair and reasonable to both Council and ratepayers. The Committee will present a report to Council outlining a proposed compensation package at the Council Compensation Review Committee meeting on October 28, 2021.
