Two new case of COVID-19 reported in Grey Highlands today

The Grey Bruce Health Unit (GBHU) is reporting seven new cases of COVID-19 in the region today. 

The new cases are located in Grey Highlands (2), Arran Elderslie, Chatsworth, Kincardine, Saugeen Shores and West Grey. 

The health unit has reported a total of 664 cases in the region to date, and notes there are 34 active cases in both counties combined. 

Two individuals from the region are being hospitalized.

Active cases in Grey County are currently located in Owen Sound (2), Southgate (1),  Grey Highlands (2), Meaford (1), West Grey (3), The Blue Mountains (3), Hanover (3), and Chatsworth (1). 

The health unit is currently tracking 96 high-risk contacts associated with active cases.

Of GBHU’s 664 cumulative cases, 585 cases have recovered and 45 cases were referred to other health units.

Today’s situation report also notes that the Grey Bruce Vaccine Task Force held its initial meeting in the past 24-hours. To-date the health unit has administered 200 COVID-19 vaccines.  

Lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Grey County include: Owen Sound (110); Southgate (85); Grey Highlands (70); Meaford (28); West Grey (50); Blue Mountains (42); Hanover (30); Georgian Bluffs (6); Chatsworth (8).
