School board candidates register in TBM and Grey Highlands

Two candidates have stepped forward for school board positions in the Town of The Blue Mountains and the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

Two candidates have stepped forward for school board positions in the Town of The Blue Mountains and the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

In Grey Highlands, incumbent Robyn Garvey (Wiseman) is running to represent West Grey, Hanover, Grey Highlands and Southgate on the Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board.

In The Blue Mountains, incumbent Frances Morgan is running to represent The Blue Mountains and the Municipality of Meaford on the Bluewater District School Board.

Other candidates include: in Grey Highlands, current councillor Dane Nielsen is running for the Deputy Mayor’s seat. In The Blue Mountains, current councillor Andrea Matrosovs is running for the Mayor’s position and Shawn McKinlay is seeking a councillor’s seat.

In addition, Eric LaPointe has filed nomination papers for Conseil Scolaire Viamonde Sector 5 trustee position, which includes Bruce, Grey, Simcoe and Dufferin counties.

Full municipal election information can be found on web pages for The Blue Mountains and Grey Highlands. Candidacy nominations opened May 2 and those wishing to run in the election have until August 19 to file their application. The election will be held on October 24, 2022.
