Recent COVID-19 case in TBM a false positive

The total case count for The Blue Mountains has dropped back down to five

The COVID-19 case that was reported on Friday in the Town of the Blue Mountains (TBM) is now being reported as a false positive. 

In today's situation report from the Grey Bruce Health Unit (GBHU), the case reported on June 12 was removed from the cumulative total, which now sits at 101 cases. This total includes one other presumptive case that is pending confirmation.

The TBM has seen a total of five COVID-19 cases.

The first case of COVID-19 was detected in TBM on April 27 and, with this false positive now removed from the list, TBM has not seen a new case of COVID since May 13.

The last positive case in Grey County was reported in the Georgian Bluffs on June 15.

The health unit reports that 92 of the 101 total cases have recovered and five have been transferred to other health units.

There are currently four active cases of COVID-19 in the region and no one has been hospitalized or lost their life to COVID-19.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases in Grey County include - Owen Sound (47); Southgate (12); Grey Highlands (6); Blue Mountains (5); West Grey (5); Georgian Bluffs (2); Meaford (1); Chatsworth (1); Hanover (0). Bruce County currently has 22 confirmed cases.
