At a recent council meeting, Grey Highlands Mayor Paul McQueen promoted the return of the RAM Rodeo to his municipality this year on May 27 - 29.

Trick riding, barrel racing, pole bending and bull and bronc riding are returning to Grey Highlands.

The Municipality of Grey Highlands will host its second RAM Rodeo event from May 27 to May 29.

This week, Grey Highlands announced the return of the Ram Rodeo to the Osprey Community Centre in Feversham. The inaugural event was held in 2021 and raised $35,641.73 for the new Markdale Hospital’s Together in Care campaign. Tickets for the event are now on sale.

All proceeds from the event will once again be donated to the Markdale Hospital campaign.

Grey Highlands Mayor Paul McQueen has championed the rodeo event, which brings together the entire community to raise money for the new hospital.

“We are so excited to be able to bring this event back to Grey Highlands to raise money for such an important community project,” said McQueen. “This year we are hoping to raise even more funds for the new Markdale hospital, while also inviting the community to dust off their boots and have some fun.”

With assistance from the Feversham Kinsmen, the rodeo event will be larger than the 2021 event. It will include an additional Friday evening rodeo performance, along with performances on Saturday and Sunday.

The event will also feature a country and western dance on Friday evening, headlined by the Cara Smith Band. There will be a cowboy breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings and a beer tent on Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

Tickets are available to be purchased online.
