New COVID cases in Blue Mountains and Grey Highlands

The cumulative total number of COVID-19 cases in the Grey-Bruce region is now 159, with six active cases

The Grey Bruce Health Unit (GBHU) has confirmed two new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24-hours - one in the Town of the Blue Mountains (TBM) and the other in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

The cumulative total of COVID-19 cases in the Grey-Bruce region is now 159, with six active cases.

The health unit also reports two preliminary positive cases are pending confirmation. If confirmed as positive, these will be added to the cumulative total.

TBM has now seen a total of nine cases of COVID-19 since the onset of the pandemic. The last case of COVID-19 in TBM was reported on Sept. 25.

As of today, the municipality of Grey Highlands has had a total of seven cases of COVID-19, with the last case reported on May 8.

Of the 159 cumulative cases in GBHU, 143 cases have recovered and 10 cases were referred to other health units.

There is currently one person hospitalized with the coronavirus in the region.

There are no active outbreaks in any long-term care facilities, daycares or schools in GBHU.

And, GBHU continues to be one of the only health units in Ontario to have no deaths as a result of COVID-19.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases in Grey County included - Owen Sound (61); Southgate (16); Meaford (13); West Grey (10); Blue Mountains (9); Grey Highlands (7); Hanover (3); Georgian Bluffs (2); Chatsworth (1). Bruce County has had 37 confirmed cases
