Byers announced that local hospitals and healthcare clinics will receive a total of $3,205,112 in funding through the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund and the Community Infrastructure Renewal Fund. The funding is part of a $182 million investment the province is making in hospitals and health service providers across the province.

The funding is as follows:

  • Grey Bruce Health Services - $1,808,269 (hospitals in Owen Sound, Lions Head, Markdale, Meaford, Southampton and Wiarton)
  • Hanover and District Hospital - $592,926
  • South Bruce Grey Health Centre - $692,042 (hospitals in Chesley, Durham, Kincardine and Walkerton)
  • South East Grey Community Health Centre - $111,875 (Main clinic in Markdale, satellite clinics in Chatsworth and Dundalk)

“These investments in our healthcare infrastructure for maintenance of facilities are so important for the ongoing quality of care. I am very pleased that our Grey Bruce community hospitals and health centre are key players in this funding announcement,” said Byers.
