In correlation with Grey Bruce Health Unit’s stay-at-home request, long-term care (LTC) homes in Grey County will be temporarily suspending general indoor and outdoor visits.

“To support our area’s 48-hour, stay-at-home request, our three care communities have suspended our window visits effective today until April 19 and will review the status to determine if further suspension is necessary,” said Jennifer Cornell, director of LTC for Grey County.

Cornell added that all three of the county’s LTC facilities continue to follow strong infection prevention and control measures and strategies including active surveillance screening and rapid antigen testing processes, increased PPE use, as well as vaccinations for residents, team members and Designated Care Partners and committed team members.

Essential visitors or Designated Care Partners are still permitted at this time, with a maximum of one caregiver per resident visiting at a time.

Virtual visits can continue to be booked through Grey County’s Colour It Connect Program at grey.ca/long-term-care
