The Municipality of Grey Highlands has received a clean audit report for 2021.

BDO Canada LLP auditors Traci Smith and Angela Nichol presented the audit report at council’s meeting on July 20. The report was good news all around for the municipality.

The auditors reported to council that they found no deficiencies in the municipality’s financial controls, reserve funds continue to grow, long-term debt is down, the municipality continues to invest in infrastructure through its capital program and Grey Highlands had operating surpluses the past two years.

“We’re on the right side of the ledger,” commented Mayor Paul McQueen, in reference to the operating surplus in 2021.

Coun. Tom Allwood thanked municipal staff for their hard work during the year.

“Congratulations to the finance department on a clean audit,” said Allwood. “We had a relatively small surplus, which was predicted. Great job.”
