The Town of the Blue Mountains’ (TBM) Little River Park and beach were officially reopened for public use this morning.

Crews had been onsite earlier this week repairing the shoreline.

“All repairs have been completed with the exception of the concrete bench pads. The work for the concrete bench pads will be completed throughout August,” says Tim Hendry, director of communications and economic development for TBM.

A staff report presented to town council in June outlined the repair work, which included repositioning the current rocks, adding additional rocks, repairing the border along the waterfront side of the playground, replacing and relocating nine concrete bench pads, clean up of gravel and rocks along the length of the property and general landscaping.

The nearby Thornbury Pier remains closed to the public for the season as the town proceeds with repairs.
