There are many reasons why you might choose to take some time out of the workforce.

It may be because you’ve recently had kids and they’re old enough to allow you to get back to work, or perhaps the pandemic itself kept you from the office for an extended period of time. Whatever the reason, summer is ending and if you want to return to work after a period away, there are things you can do to make it as easy as possible.

An employment counsellor from TRACKS Employment Services will help you find the right job for you by discussing and exploring your job skills and interests and identifying the types of jobs you might apply for that are best suited to your skills and experience.

“Come meet with our team to get some one-on-one help with your job search.”

TRACKS Employment Services, a not-for-profit resource centre for Employment Ontario, helps unemployed and underemployed individuals of all ages find and retain reliable employment in South Georgian Bay at no cost. Funded by the provincial government, TRACKS offers multiple programs and job preparation services geared towards specific demographics, ages, and more.

“Reentering the workforce can be an exciting time, but it often comes with a lot of uncertainty,” says Kathryn George, Employment Counsellor at TRACKS Employment Services in Collingwood, “It’s important to plan ahead and prepare for the possibility that it could take longer than you expect. Keep in mind that it might take some time for you to feel like yourself again after you’ve been out of the workforce for a while. The key is to be patient and keep positive. It can also be helpful to get a professional assessment of your work capacity before you start back,” says George.
