Summer Country Kickoff is almost here! Do you have your tickets yet?

Presented by Countrycore Records, Summer Country Kickoff is coming to Collingwood on May 13, at the Curling Club arena in Collingwood.

“This show is for all the country music fans in Collingwood. It will bring some of the best Canadian Country stars here to kick off the summer in style,” said the event’s spokesperson.

“After the last fundraiser for the Georgian Triangle Hospice, which Countrycore Records was part of, there was great feedback from the community, and some were already showing interest in doing a new event. We thought this time we would create something on a bigger scale to accommodate everyone,” said Max Batista, from the event production.

“We know there are a lot of country music fans in Collingwood, so that set the theme. We have incredible musicians performing: Andrew Hyatt, Rebecca Rain and Graham Trude, aside from lots of community support, and a great cause. All the ingredients needed for a fantastic evening out,” said Batista.

“The show will benefit Hospice Georgian Triangle,” said Graham Trude, ‘The Singing Solider’, one of the country artists who will be performing. “This is a cause near and dear to our hearts. We have friends and family who have used Hospice and it has meant so much to all of us. It’s an important need in our community.”

Andrew Hyatt is a Canadian Country singer-songwriter from Sudbury, who won the Canadian Country Music Award winner for Rising Star of the Year at the 2022 Canadian Country Music Awards. He has recently been signed to 604 Records. “I’m excited to be back in Collingwood playing music and be playing it for a great cause! I can’t wait!” said Hyatt about the show.

Rebecca Rain, a 2019 Boots and Hearts Music Festival Emerging Artist Showcase Finalist, agreed. “I can’t wait to perform at Summer Country Kickoff! I’m really looking forward to sharing the stage with Graham and Andrew and being a part of such a great cause in the community.” Rain hails from Wasaga Beach, just down the road, and now splits her time between there and Nashville to further her career.

Trude is from Collingwood originally, and is now back here, doing what he loves to do: music. He was recently picked up by the international booking agency Atomic Music Group and is looking forward to getting back to performing and giving back.

“Music did a lot for me to heal my trauma and help me move forward, so I like to give back through my music. Fans can expect a lot of diversity from my set at Summer Country Kickoff,” said Trude. “Since it’s a festival-tyle atmosphere, I’m going to bring a bit of country rock to the stage, as well as my typical singer/songwriter type music,” he said.

Organizers are thrilled with the level of support being shown by the community already, with tickets being sold and many local sponsors on board, including Side Launch Brewing Company, The Peak 95.1 FM, Collingwood Today, Tim Hortons, Fish TV, Spartan Wellness, Hawkins Ryerse Real Estate Group, and Purdy’s Mechanical, among others.

“It has been great to see so many people coming together to make the Summer Country Kickoff a reality, as it is for the community. We have all been craving a good time and this is an opportunity to enjoy world-class entertainment close to home while supporting a local organization,” said Max Batista, show promotor.
