Wasaga man charged with drunk driving in Kawartha Lakes

Police received a traffic complaint at 1:45 a.m. Saturday morning and reported locating the Wasaga man on Highway 7 east of Oakwood

This weekend officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police arrested two drivers after responding to separate traffic complaints.

The first complaint was received on Friday, Oct. 9, shortly after 11 p.m. The vehicle was located on Kawartha Lakes Road 36, just north of Lindsay, a short time later. Following an investigation, the driver, 57-year-old Robert Attrell of Brampton was arrested and charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on Dec. 17, 2020.

Another traffic complaint was received a few hours later, early Saturday morning (Oct. 10), at approximately 1:45 a.m. The vehicle was located on Hwy 7 east of Oakwood. Following an investigation, the driver, 41-year-old Douglas Gordon of Wasaga Beach was arrested and charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on Dec. 17, 2020.
