On Sept. 25, 2022, at 11:51 a.m., officers from the Grey Bruce OPP responded to a report of a submerged vehicle just off of St. Vincent Street in the Municipality of Meaford.

Just after 6 p.m., a motor vehicle was removed from the water. There were no occupants within it.

The motor vehicle had previously been reported stolen, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The Grey Bruce OPP would like to thank members of the public for their cooperation in remaining away from the area while crews worked.

The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking members of the public to avoid the Meaford Marina while they conduct an investigation.

On Sept, 25, 2022, at 11:51 a.m., officers from the Grey Bruce OPP responded to a report of a submerged vehicle just off of St. Vincent Street in the Municipality of Meaford. Officers from the Grey Bruce OPP and the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit remain on scene. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area while emergency crews continue to work.

It is unknown if anyone is inside the vehicle. More updates will be provided as they become available.
