Two suffer serious injuries in Wasaga Beach stabbing

WASAGA BEACH - On Sept. 25, 2018 at approximately 2:28 a.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police and Simcoe County Paramedic Service responded to a 911 call for service, indicating that two males had been stabbed at a Main Street address in Wasaga Beach.

An initial OPP investigation revealed that a verbal argument escalated between three males, resulting in a 21- and 28-year-old male being stabbed by a 25-year-old male. Both parties were transported to hospital with serious injuries. The 25-year-old male fled and was later arrested by South Simcoe Police. He was returned to the Huronia West Detachment.

As a result of the investigation, Sebastian Olley, 25-years-old, from Wasaga Beach has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • CC 267(b) assault causing bodily harm
  • CC 268 aggravated assault
  • CC 88 possession of weapon for dangerous purpose x2
  • CC 733.1(1) fail to comply with probation order
  • CDSA 4(1) possession of a schedule II substance - cannabis marijuana - over 30 grams
  •  

The accused has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie on Sept. 26, 2018 to answer to the charges.

The investigation into this incident is continuing under the direction of the Huronia West OPP Crime Unit.
