Two accused of defrauding elderly Clearview Township woman

CLEARVIEW TOWNSHIP - On Jan. 25, 2018, members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report that an elderly female from Clearview Township had been defrauded out of several thousands of dollars.

After a lengthy investigation the HW OPP have arrested and charged [name removed] of Barrie with:

  • Theft by person holding power of attorney CC 331
  • Misappropriation of money held under direction CC 332
  • Criminal breach of trust CC 336
  • Fraud over $5,000 CC 380(1)(a)

He is to appear in Collingwood court on Dec. 11, 2018 to answer to the charges.

Additionally, [name removed] of Midland was also involved in the incidents was charged with :

  • Theft over $5,000 CC 334(a)
  • Theft under $5,000  CC 334(b)
  • Fraud over $5,000 CC 380(1)(a)

He appeared in Barrie bail court on Nov. 1, 2018 for the charges.
