Three arrested in drug trafficking investigation

Police also seized suspected purple heroin and more than $2,000 in cash

Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police Community Street Crimes Unit arrested three parties yesterday in relation to an investigation into drug trafficking offences in Collingwood.

The arrests came as a result of an investigation that began in February 2019 which also culminated with the seizure of approximately eight grams of purple heroin and over $2000 in cash.

Charged are:

24 year-old Kerron Edwards of Brampton, he is charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance (opioid)
  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (opioid)
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance (opioid)
  • Two counts of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

55 year-old John Gibson of Collingwood, he is charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (opioid)

57 year-old Kathleen Huntley of Collingwood, she is charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (opioid).

All three were held for bail court taking place today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.
