Members of the Collingwood Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) determined the report of a suspicious package received at the Canada Post Office in Thornbury to be harmless.

 On Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021, at approximately 9:18 a.m., Collingwood OPP, along with the Town of Blue Mountain Fire Department, responded to a report of a suspicious package at the Canada Post office in Thornbury.

The investigation revealed that a letter had been dipped in a harmless substance to enhance the fragrance of the parcel. The incident was deemed non-suspicious.

Collingwood OPP would like to remind residents that parcels emitting a strange odour will be flagged and investigated.
