OPP investigate death at Blue Mountain Resort

12 p.m. update:

Jackie Paduano, media relations for Blue Mountain Resort, directed questions to police, confirming there is an investigation underway.

THE BLUE MOUNTAINS - Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to assist at the Blue Mountain Resort shortly before 3 a.m. this morning.

The initial investigation found that a 24-year-old male attempted to climb the outside wall of a building in the Blue Mountain Village when, at some point, he lost his footing and fell to the ground. He was subsequently transported to an area hospital where he died of his injuries.

A post mortem examination will be scheduled. The investigation is ongoing.
