Slew of stunt driving, fail to stop charges laid in Mono

TOWN OF MONO - On Tuesday, June 4, 2019, Dufferin OPP were operating traffic enforcement throughout the Town of Mono. 

The first incident occurred at 9:47 a.m. on Airport Road between the 25th and 30th Side road where police were doing speed enforcement. A 2008 Hyundai sedan was observed traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was clocked at 143 km in a posted 80 km per hour zone. 

A traffic stop was initiated and the 66 male, from Stayner, Ontario, had his vehicle towed and impounded for seven days and his driver's license suspended for seven days. 

He is charged with stunt drive excessive speed and will appear in Orangeville Court at a later date to answer to the charge

At 1:08 p.m., police did stop sign enforcement at intersection 1st Line EHS and French Drive in Mono and charged four drivers with failing to stop at stop signs.  This is in response to complaints from citizens in the area.

At 5:03 p.m., Dufferin OPP were conducting speed enforcement on Airport road between the 25th and 30th sideroad when a 2018 Honda Civic was clocked traveling at 134 km in a posted 80 km per hour zone. 

The 24-year-old female driver from Brampton had her vehicle towed and impounded for seven days and her driver's license suspended for seven days. 

She was charged with stunt drive excessive speed and will appear in Orangeville Court at a later date to answer to the charge.
