Skateboarder injured in collision, police look for witnesses

Police are looking for anyone who might have witnessed a Sept. 26 collision between a skateboarder and a pick-up truck near downtown Collingwood. 

According to Collingwood OPP, the collision occurred around 6:45 p.m. at Third and Pine Streets and the driver of the pickup did not remain on the scene. 

The male on the skateboard was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. 

The truck is a dark, possibly black, Chevrolet Silverado, that was last seen headed east on Third Street. Police say there could be damage to the passenger side fender or doors. 

The investigation is ongoing, and police have asked anyone who witnessed the collision to call Collingwood OPP at 1-705-445-4321. Anonymous tips may be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
