Sept. 26 update:

Officers responded to 205 calls for service on Saturday Sept. 25, 2021 along with towing 25 vehicles from the roadway including 18 for safety infractions and seven for stunt driving offences.

101 offence notices were issued throughout the day and one impaired driver was removed from the roadways.

Due to the increased police presence in and around the town of Wasaga Beach, members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to 180 calls for service on Friday, September 24, 2021. Officers towed 14 vehicles off of area roadways for a variety of Highway Traffic Act offences and issued 87 offence notices to vehicle drivers.

Six drivers were charged with stunt driving offences resulting in 30-day on-the-spot driver's licence suspensions as well as 14-day vehicle impoundment in keeping with the new  Moving Ontarians More Safely (MOMS) Act.

One impaired driver was removed from the Town's roadways and officers responded an early morning break-and-enter to a beachfront business resulting in several suspects being apprehended in an ongoing investigation.
