Search warrant leads to theft charges

Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recently charged a female in relation to a shoplifting incident at a local pharmacy in Collingwood.

In mid-March officers received information about a shoplifting incident at the Shoppers Drug Mart on First Street in Collingwood. Officers were able to identify the suspect via video surveillance and investigation also led to the officers locating some of the stolen items for sale online.

This week officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Collins Street in Collingwood where they recovered numerous items stolen from the pharmacy.

Charged is 38-year-old Mary Ann Vanislicker of Collingwood, she is charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on April 30, 2019.
