RIDE check results in impaired charges for Holland Landing man

MEAFORD - On Dec. 5, 2021 at approximately 1:30 a.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Sykes Street South in the Town of Meaford.   

A motor vehicle entered the RIDE program and it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Grey Bruce OPP detachment, where further tests were administered.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Jonathon Myles, 27 years old, from Holland Landing with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), and
  • Class G1 Licence Holder - unaccompanied by qualified driver, and
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor.

The accused was released and must attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on Jan. 20, 2021.

The accused's driver licence was automatically suspended for 30 days, and their vehicle was towed, and impounded for seven days.
