Members of the Huronia West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking assistance from the public with a mischief investigation in Wasaga Beach.

Just over one year ago, a rainbow crosswalk was installed on Mosley Street at 39th Street South in Wasaga Beach. This crosswalk proudly celebrates the diversity within our community. Sadly, there have been several acts of vandalism to this crosswalk since its installation.

On Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 7:51 p.m., the driver of this vehicle decided to deface the crosswalk.

Do you know the person responsible for this?

Anyone who decides to commit a criminal offence such as this will be held accountable.

Police are looking to speak with anyone that has any information on this incident, or any other involving this crosswalk. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Huronia West OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). When you contact Crime Stoppers you remain anonymous, you will never have to testify and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
