Police searching for suspect in active investigation

ARRAN-ELDERSLIE - On Jan. 10, 2019 just before 8:30 a.m., members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were investigating a suspect vehicle with one occupant at an address on Greenock-Elderslie Townline in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

During the investigation, the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, striking two police cruisers and injuring an officer. The injured officer discharged a firearm at the suspect with unknown results.

The South Bruce OPP officer sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital by Bruce County Paramedic Services for treatment.

Police continue to search for the both the suspect and the suspect vehicle, which is described as a Dodge 3500 Dually pickup truck, black in colour with bar lights on the top.

Members of the South Bruce OPP Crime Unit, with the assistance of OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) and Forensic Identification Services (FIS), continue to investigate.
